Angela Stanford Mural

A few years ago, the Keep Saginaw Beautiful Committee (KSB) began community-wide beautification projects through art. It began with the wrapping the eight (now nine) traffic signal boxes throughout the city. KSB expanded their efforts to two of our parks that included painting six (6) manhole covers, one (1) outflow drainage and one (1) restroom that added art, beauty and color to otherwise uninteresting locations in our parks.

They also met with professional artist Adam Davenport (https://www.davenportstudios.com). Adam hails from Louisiana/Mississippi, but now resides in the Austin area, and is well known for his versatility in realism and portraiture.  Adam has painted historic murals on the north and south side of the Northwest Plumbing Building at 109 N. Saginaw Blvd (the original Saginaw Texas Fire Station) as well as a mural project on the north side of JR’s Café (the original home of Greene’s Grocery).

Recently, the City has commissioned Adam to paint a mural on an above ground fresh-water tank in southern Willow Creek Park.  The mural features Saginaw’s own LPGA golfer Angela Stanford. Adam began work last Thursday, May 13th.  Your $1.00 voluntary donation on your monthly water bill to the Keep Saginaw Beautiful Committee is funding this project.

Take a look at Adam's amazing work!
