About The Saginaw Police Department
Saginaw is a growing, dynamic city, located in the northwest quadrant of Tarrant County, Texas. Our population has increased over 50% since 2000, and the Police Department has grown to keep pace. Our current population is over 20,000 and is expected to exceed 23,000 in the next few years.

The Police Department currently has 39 sworn (police officer) and 7 non-sworn (communications, detention) full-time positions. We operate under two divisions - operations and support services. The department also staffs a SWAT team, trained to respond to critical incidents within the city.

Hiring Process 
Once your application is on file, it will be screened for suitability. Applicants for police officer positions must be at least 21 years old, have completed a basic police academy (or are currently enrolled), and have a strong personal background. Those who pass this screening are invited to a physical assessment. While it is not a traditional pass / fail assessment, applicants are encouraged to do their best. 

Those who excel are invited to an oral board interview with a panel of three to five Saginaw officers and supervisors. If you've made it through all of this, plus a thorough background investigation, you may receive a conditional job offer; only comprehensive physical and psychological examinations stand between you and a career as a Saginaw police officer.

How to Apply 
Employment applications are only accepted during specific recruiting periods. The rest of the year we accept job interest cards. Once you complete an interest card, you will be contacted by mail or email the next time we are accepting applications.
