City Manager Stanford has been with the City more than 41 years. Mrs. Stanford was appointed City Manager on September 12, 1999 and over the years has served the city in various capacities. Currently, she is responsible for over 150 full-time and part-time employees and an annual budget of over $30 million.
Mrs. Stanford worked part-time with the city from June 1973 to July 1974. Her responsibilities included customer service, utility billing, property tax collection, issuing building and miscellaneous permits, municipal court fine collections, and assisting the Library as needed.
She was hired full-time in March 1976 for the position of Payroll and Accounts Payable Clerk and Recording Secretary to the City Council. She was promoted to Office Manager in January 1981 and Finance Director in October 1988. In May 1995, she was promoted to Assistant City Manager and Finance Director.
The city manager is the chief administrative officer of the city. Responsibilities of the city manager include:
Enforcing the ordinances and laws of the city
General administration of all city departments
Reviewing and updating all management policies and regulations
