Digital Display Sign Landscaping

A few years ago, the City of Saginaw constructed a digital display sign on the east side of Business 287 between the road and the train tracks. It was discussed at a 2015 Saginaw Beautification Committee (SBC) meeting (a group of volunteer citizens) to look at installing a landscaped stone flower bed with irrigation and live plants to enhance the sign and beautify our community. Staff researched and designed a potential project to meet the requests of the committee. At the April 4, 2016 meeting, the SBC deliberated and approved a proposal/design for the project and unanimously voted to approve the funding of $4,842.85 for Peterson’s Landscaping to install a sandstone bed complete with irrigation, low-maintenance shrubs and perennial flowers.

At the April 19, 2016 City Council meeting, the Council unanimously voted to approve the funding of $4,842.85 to install a sandstone bed complete with irrigation, low-maintenance shrubs and perennial flowers.

The project was completed on May 9, 2016.
