Old Decatur Road Water Line and Road

City of Fort Worth Old Decatur Road/Water Line Construction Update: As part of the ongoing City of Fort Worth waterline construction project, beginning August 28 and/or August 29, Northbound Old Decatur Rd traffic will shift to the West side of the medians at the McLeroy Blvd intersection. This is based on added concrete on the West side of the road at that intersection for southbound traffic. This extra concrete will allow two southbound lanes at the intersection. One for through traffic and right hand turns and the other for left hand turns (towards Willow Creek Elementary). This configuration should help relieve some of the southbound traffic backup. This traffic change is needed to continue the waterline installation south of the First Baptist Church and ultimately to the tie in point near McLeroy Blvd.
Also, the W.J. Boaz and Old Decatur Rd intersection is back open but use caution as the traffic lights are currently not flashing and the intersection remains a 4 way stop. We will continue to have an officer presence for traffic control during peak hours and as call load allows.
City of Fort Worth Old Decatur Road/Water Line Construction Update: Based on information provided by SJ Lewis Construction, concrete should be poured this week on N. Old Decatur Road from Bailey Boswell, south to the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Administration building. This is intended to open additional lanes to support Wayside Middle School and Bryson Elementary School traffic. However, as of this morning that pour has not begun.

In preparation for the start of school at the International Leadership of Texas (Thursday August 17th) and Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD schools (Monday August 21st), we are expecting and planning for the current traffic configuration (one lane of traffic for each of the north and south bound traffic) to still be in place for at least one more week. The intersections of Park Center Blvd and WJ Boaz Rd and Old Decatur Rd. will remain multi-direction stop intersections. Residential side streets (Meadowdale, Bridle, and Silverbrook) will remain closed at Old Decatur Rd. Sherwood Trail will remain closed between the residential housing area and the International Leadership of Texas campus. These residential streets will remain closed to allow continued construction activity and also to prevent traffic from overflowing from Old Decatur Road into the residential areas.
Motorists not transporting students to or from school or childcare Centers on Old Decatur are highly encouraged to seek alternate routes from 6-8 AM and 2-4 PM for the next several weeks. Expect slow moving traffic and heavy delays due to construction and the traffic increase based on school start/end times. Plan your travel route with right hand turns onto and off of Old Decatur Road (left hand turns will be difficult at any uncontrolled intersection and will further slow/block traffic movement). North/south alternate routes include Saginaw Blvd. to the east and Boat Club Rd. to the west.
The Saginaw Police will have officers conducting traffic control at various intersections on Old Decatur Road to help facilitate traffic movement during peek traffic times. Please be cautious and alert as these traffic control points may change based on traffic development and trouble spots. A key point for all to understand, in the afternoons, any vehicles arriving early for student pickup will have to move onto the school’s property to park, wait or line up. Static student pickup vehicle lines will not be allowed to extend onto the roadways further blocking traffic.
Lastly, this road remains an active construction area, watch for workers, pedestrians, school buses, police officers and construction equipment. Expect delays, do not wait to the last minute to get students to school in the morning and it will not be productive for everyone to try to make the afternoon pickup of students at the same time.

City of Fort Worth Old Decatur Road/Water Line Construction Update: As part of the ongoing City of Fort Worth waterline construction project, Park Center Blvd has reopened to through traffic at Old Decatur Rd. It will have temporary road fill and gravel covering the installed waterline until the concrete replacement portion of the project in that area (at which time it will close again while concrete is poured and sets). The intersection will remain a three way stop with stop signs and flashing red lights while traffic is rerouted to the west side of Old Decatur Rd. Use caution in the area based on the roadway condition and traffic.

City of Fort Worth Old Decatur Road/Water Line Construction Update: As part of the ongoing City of Fort Worth waterline construction project, North Old Decatur Rd traffic is now redirected to the west side of the roadway all the way from about the 200 block (just south of the church/day care area) to Boswell Rd. Both Park Center and WJ Boaz are posted with 4 way stop signs and traffic lights should remain flashing red in all directions.
