Notes from Saginaw Animal Services

Notes of Interest from Saginaw Animal Services and Adoption Center

  • February is "Pet Dental Month"
    • Did you know:
      • Really foul dog breath is normally caused by a need for a dental cleaning;
      • 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have some degree of oral disease by the age of 3;
      • Routine brushing (every 72 hours) can greatly reduce the chances of needing aggressive or emergency dental care like tooth extractions and/or root canals;
      • Dental treats (like Greenies) can also help clean teeth;
      • The Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP) can help get your pet on the way to healthy teeth.  Call 940-566-5551 to schedule a basic cleaning.
  • "Love a Pet Week" is February 12-17, 2018
    • All Pet adoption fees at the Saginaw Animal Services and Adoption Center will be waived all week!
    • TCAP will provide a free rabies vaccination to each adopted pet!
