Saginaw Fire Department Welcomes Eddy Wood To Their Ranks

Saginaw Fire Chief Doug Spears is proud to announce the addition of Eddy Wood to the department. Mr. Wood will serve as the Chief over the Fire Services Division. As the Fire Services Division Chief Mr. Wood will also serve as the department’s Fire Marshal.

Mr. Wood comes to us from the City of Brownwood, Texas where he is currently serving as the Fire Chief, a position he has held since April, 2017. Mr. Wood has 26 years of fire service experience holding multiple ranks with assignment and involvement in every aspect of fire department operations and management. Mr. Wood began his fire service career in the City of Azle in 1992 and changed service to the City of North Richland Hills in 1998 promoting to and serving as a Battalion Chief for 7 years before accepting the City of Brownwood Fire Chief position.

Mr. Wood has a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science Administration and is a graduate of the Texas Fire Chiefs Academy in addition to holding multiple certifications in wide ranging fire service disciplines. “I have had opportunity to know and work with Eddy through his fire service career here in the area and I am very confident we have selected the correct person for this vital role within our department. Eddy’s experience, leadership character, professionalism and dedication will make him a valuable contributor to our department on day one with us,” states Fire Chief Spears.

Mr. Wood’s first day in his new role will be July 22nd.
