City Council Approved Funding for Mural

A few years ago, the Keep Saginaw Beautiful Committee (KSB) began a community-wide beautification project of wrapping the eight (now nine) traffic signal boxes throughout the city. This project added color and beauty to an otherwise uninteresting gray/silver traffic control box.  This project has been well received from residents and the community alike.

Over time, the KSB has expanded their efforts for the fine artistic beautification of Saginaw by including the Texas Flag/Welcome Mural on Ardent Mills as well as several additional projects that are both currently in the works and completed. Most recently, the KSB Committee and staff met with Adam Davenport (  Adam hails from Louisiana but now resides in the Austin area.  He’s well known for his versatility in realism and portraiture.

At the September 16, 2019 meeting, KSB deliberated and decided to paint a mural on the north side (southbound side) of the Northwest Plumbing Building.  That plumbing building was once the home to the original Saginaw Texas Fire Station/Department.  The KSB researched photos and selected this attached historic Fire Department photo as the idea behind this mural.
