Development Updates: Saginaw Texas is Moving and Shaking!

Currently, we have as many as five (5) potential new major developments that we are working on all in different phases. Four (4) of those are mixed-use developments with single-family, multi-family, restaurant and retail. While each are in different stages of development, all are moving forward.  You will certainly see some dirt move in 2021.

In addition, we are getting some good solid interest from retail and restaurants that have either expressed interest in coming to Saginaw, currently considering/investigating Saginaw as a location, or at least putting Saginaw TX on their radar. While the COVID-19 Pandemic has certainly slowed things down, we are finding that businesses do want to be in Saginaw Texas. Several retail/restaurant businesses are showing signs to move forward but are waiting for the future developments to begin. All are in different stages of consideration and radar. Also, each meet the types of requests received from Saginaw residents taken at the Citizen’s Summit, Citizen Survey (conducted by the Economic Development Department in 2019) and via word of mouth.

The City of Saginaw leadership is focused on providing a pro-business environment and a great location for families, recreation, workforce, business and industry. With new developments, redevelopments, and taking care of our existing businesses, these are certainly some exciting and historic times for Saginaw Texas.
Here are some new development construction updates from around town:
  • BELMONT OFFICE PARK (Belmont St):  Professional Office, Medical, Fitness, Commercial office facility located on 209 Belmont Street.  2700 sq. ft. of space located on .4983 acres of land just off Business 287 (Saginaw Blvd). Construction is ongoing.  
  • THE EDITION SENIOR LIVING (West McLeroy Blvd):  An Independent Retirement Living, Assisted Living & Memory Care Community located just West of Business 287 on W McLeroy Ave, East of N. Knowles Dr.
  • UCD MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT (SW corner of Blue Mound Rd and Bailey Boswell):  This mixed use development is located on Northeast Saginaw on the southwest corner of Blue Mound Road (156) and East Bailey Boswell Road. This property will feature Retail, Restaurant and Multi-family apartments.
  • PLANET FITNESS (South Saginaw Blvd):  Ground has been broken and dirt is moving in Southern Saginaw!  Planet Fitness is constructing a NEW 20,000 square foot facility in the center just south of Palomino Drive near Collections Jewelry.
  • CHIPOTLE (North Old Decatur Rd) and GOLDEN CHICK (North Old Decatur Rd):  Construction has begun on both a Chipotle Mexican Restaurant and a Golden Chick on the northwest corner of Saginaw off North Old Decatur Road.
  • ALL STORAGE (North Old Decatur Rd):  Ground has been broken and dirt is currently moving on the property at 1416 N. Old Decatur Rd. (just north of EECU and Bailey Boswell Rd.) in Northwest Saginaw, Texas!
