Several years ago, the Saginaw Parks Advisory Board came up with an idea to honor the men and women of Saginaw who have served in the United States Armed Forces. That idea became a reality with Kiwanis/Veteran’s Memorial Park. The Veteran's Memorial includes: one granite bench, one granite pedestal with the wording for the monument: “In honor of the men and women of Saginaw who have served in the United States Armed Forces”, the emblems of the five branches of military laser engraved in black granite and installed on five individual gray monuments.
Residents can purchase bricks that can be engraved with an armed services veteran’s name. The cost to purchase a brick with a veteran’s name of their choice is only $25. The red/burgundy brick pavers are 4" x 8". You have three (3) lines of text and 13 spaces per line.
For more information and/or to purchase a brick, call the Saginaw Recreation Center at 817-230-0350. To view the monuments, check out www.SaginawTx.org or stop by the park at 400 S. Saginaw Blvd.
