Juveniles & Minors

The Saginaw Municipal Court handles various Class C misdemeanors that are committed by Juveniles and/or Minors.

What is a Juvenile?
A juvenile is any person that is under the age of seventeen (16 and under).
What is a Minor?
A minor is any person that is between the age of seventeen and twenty (17-20).

All juveniles, under the age of 17, are required to appear with their parent/guardian before the Judge regarding their citation. Please contact the Court Clerk for scheduling. Failure of a parent/guardian to appear with a juvenile constitutes a separate misdemeanor offense by the parent. Juveniles who fail to appear in court may have an additional charge of "Failure to Appear" filed against them and their driver's license will be suspended. All juveniles will be held accountable for their actions.

Minor Alcohol and Tobacco Offense
Minors under the age of 21 charged with an alcohol or tobacco offense must appear in court within 21 days of receiving their citation to schedule a court date. A parent/guardian is required to appear with any juvenile, under the age of 17, charged with an alcohol or tobacco offense.
